Client-side project manager for fire safety remediation of an occupied 8-storey residential building, completed April 2023.

The scope of works for this 8-storey residential building included replacing composite balcony decking with AliDeck aluminium decking, installation of cavity barriers to voids in wrap-around balconies, curtainwall spandrel panel replacement, survey & repair of Knauf 'Warm Wall Rail' external wall system, and upgrading fire alarms to Part 6 LD1.

Client-side project manager for façade remediation of an occupied 10-storey residential building. Completed May 2024.

Managing a multi-disciplinary team including a specialist contractor, Fire Engineer, and Façade Engineer and commercial cladding consultant to carry out full strip and re-clad. Appointed in 2021 to manage EWS1 assessment, intrusive investigation, planning, procurement and management of the remediation works.

External Wall System Remediation, residential building

Client-side project manager for essential fire safety work to an occupied residential apartment building, completed September 2022.

The external remediation work included replacing PIR soffit insulation in the car park with Rockwool Soffit Slab, repairing intumescent paint to steelwork, replacing composite balcony decking with Alideck's non-combustible decking system and render remediation of the Wetherby Building Systems EWI system.

4-storey mixed-use development comprising 2 retail units (Costa Coffee and Post Office) and 36 retirement apartments. Asbestos removal prior to demolition. Ground remediation. Piled site, steel frame. Achieved BREAAM Very Good. Coordinated retail fit-out to achieve retail opening prior to occupation of apartments (to comply with Planning Consent).

Fire Safety works and defect rectification, Southsea

Client-side project manager for fire safety works and defect rectification of an occupied 6-storey residential building. Commenced February 2024.

Replacement of combustible balcony and terrace decking with new AliDeck system. Investigation and rectification of latent defects.

Like many residential building management companies, my client is gradually replacing combustible balcony decking with A1 non-combustible decking. To date we have completed decking replacement on two occupied apartment buildings using AliDeck Lite board V2, with more planned for the future.

4-storey, 50 apartment development with resident's lounge, restaurant, and commercial kitchen facility.

First-time planning consent gained for this Conservation Area site (Bath World Heritage Site). EA Consultation, Flood Risk Assessment, and flood mitigation required due to location in Flood Zone 3 with live watercourse.

MV Britannia, P&O Cruises

Major refit of spa and hotel public areas onboard Britannia, including re-design of the atrium and shops, upgrades to coffee bar, wine bar, and cabin refurbishment.

The onboard spa was transformed with new experiential entrance displays and new steam & ice thermal experiences.

Radisson Blu, Edinburgh

Refurbishment of Radisson Blu hotel on the Royal Mile. Replacement of over 400 timber sash windows and the refurbishment of the hotel's key public areas including entrance and lounge. The refurbishment project was phased to enable completion in a live environment with minimal disruption to the hotel and its guests.

Taking a Design Management role for the hotel's proposed full refurbishment of guestrooms, suites, restaurants, bars & spa facilities, I managed the consultant tender process and RIBA Design Stages 0-2. The early design work included coordinating with M&E consultants to plan major Building Services replacements and upgrades with a focus on sustainability and lowering carbon emissions.

Fast-track refurbishment of the Hyatt Regency Birmingham's spa and swimming pool areas following fire damage. Working in a Construction Management role I led the team to plan, design, and deliver a new sauna and a beautifully repaired and refurbished space to meet the Client's desired re-opening date ahead of a political party conference in Birmingham.
